The Local authorities in Langtang South, Langtang North and Wase have assured the Symbol of Trust Captain, Professor Sonni Tyoden that they are fully committed to ensure that his aspiration to succeed Governor Simon Lalong becomes a reality.
The council chairmen made the remark separately when the Deputy Governor and his entourage toured the local governments to solicit their votes ahead of the primaries of the All Progressives Congress.
The Chairman of Langtang South, Vincent Venman through the council’s Deputy Chairman, Deborah Danfa, that of Langtang North, Zulfa Rimven represented by the Deputy, Nancy Paul and their Wase counter Ado Abubakar through the council’s Deputy Chairman, Nanven Audu commended Professor Tyoden for coming to intimate them of his desire to succeed the incumbent Governor.
They unanimously agreed that the Deputy Governor has the requisite experience, capability and pedigree to pilot the activities of Plateau State in 2023 and beyond.
The respective council chairmen stressed that they are hundred percent behind the Deputy Governor who they noted has impacted in no small measure on the lives of Plateau people throughout his public service life.
They assured Tyoden that he should take them by their words as they would not speak with both sides of the mouth.
Early, Professor Sonni Tyoden who visited the local government council’s separately said he was at the respective local authorities to solicit their votes as he is conversant with the peculiarities of the challenges and problems confronting each local government area.
He assured that when given the mandate, he will further consolidate on the security architecture of the state, create employment for citizens, improve the economy of Plateau and complete projects whose execution period may go beyond May, 2023.
He noted that since 1999, there has been rancour between the Governors and their Deputies in Plateau State. However the Governor and himself decided to operate a rancour free government to tell Plateau people that peace is achievable.
The Symbo of Trust Captain further prevailed on the council chairmen to mobilize their people to ensure he succeed, so as to create room for a successful transition from APC to APC.
The Deputy Governor and frontline aspirant also had an interface with the Legislative Councils of Langtang South, Langtang North and Wase and the party officials and stakeholders in the respective local Government Areas where he assured them that when given the mandate, he will not disappoint them and solicited their support to ensure he emerges as the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress in the forth coming primaries of the party.
Professor Sonni Tyoden was also the APC Secretariat Shendam where he was given a rousing welcome. The representatives of the Youth, Women, Elders and the Party officials showered praises on the capability of the Deputy Governor to lead the state at the expiration of the tenure of their son and the incumbent Governor in 2023.
The Symbol of Trust Captain was also at the Palace of the Emir of Wase to seek for royal blessings in his quest to succeed his principal, the Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong.
The Emir, Muhammadu Sambo Haruna, through the Wazirin Wase, Badamasi Mamuda said Continuity is good for the Nigerian system because it facilitates quick development by avoiding slow take off of government during the learning process by a new hand.
