It was a moment of sober reflection as members took turns to recall with nostalgia the fond memories they had with their departed colleague, late Hon Henry Longs.
Speaker Presiding Rt. Hon Yakubu Sanda while condoling with the family, constituents of Pankshin South and members of the 9th Assembly, described Hon. Henry Longs as God’s gift to the house who through his death has united members and brought peace.
Members in their separate submissions recall the humble posture of Hon. Henry longs and his believe in justice and fairness while discharging his personal and legislative responsibilities.
His colleagues saw him as a reliable and trust worthy ally who believes in service to humanity above self and a promoter of human dignity.
The members noted with delight their personal interactions with the decease, which they noted was rewarding, particularly his wise legal advice that has helped in the smooth working relationship with the judiciary.
His funny jokes in the midst of tensed situation is one fond memories that members could not hold back as they spoke about their departed colleague during the Validatry session.
The members while praying for God’s comfort, assured the family of the house support for their wellbeing.
Amongst personalities that witnessed the session were the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Professor Sonni Tyoden, Family members of the deceased, Special Adviser to Governor Simon Lalong on Political Matters, Hon. Diket Plang as well as wives of the house members among other dignitaries.
