The Nasarawa State Police Command says it has arrested a 35-year-old man, Abubakar Likita, who was conveying 53 AK-47 Magazine Guns and 260 rounds of live ammunition to Jos, Plateau State.
Police Public Relations Officer of the command, ASP Ramhan Nansel, made the disclosure in an interview with The PUNCH on Saturday, 21st August, 2021 in Lafia.
He explained that a team of police officers on patrol intercepted the man at Akwanga Local Government Area of the state while he was on his way to Jos as confessed by him.
The man, suspected to be Fulani herdsman en route to Jos on a bike named says other members of his gang numbering six are already on their way to Jos via motorcycles, says Likita.
As at the time of filing this report, Likita is currently being detained in Nasarawa.
