Nigerians have continued to express gratitude to God for the safe release of Rev Zango from ISWAP captivity. Rev. Zango along side others were kidnapped in October 2020. In a video which went viral following the incident. Rev. Zango declared that he was kidnapped along Bauchi-Gombe road by those he described as “Caliphate Force”. He had appealed to the Federal Government, the Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong and the Christendom to help secure his release; a plea that his 7 Months long stay in capacity speaks less of.

Following his release, the National Coordinator, Prayer Force Network, Ambassador John Pofi has taken a swipe on the Federal Government and the Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong for not making the needed visible efforts to ensure the release of Rev Zango and others.

In a statement issued by Ambassador Pofi and made available to Newsmen, it was revealed that

“Kalthum Foundation for Peace and the famous John Pofi foundation have done their best and to the glory of God, no ransom was paid for the release of Rev. Zango, but his release was made possible through the strong, diplomatic persuading and convincing power of negotiations”.

The statement stressed that “The federal and state governments have failed in this regard leaving their citizens to their fates, what a hopeless situation?“

As at the time of filing this report, Ambassador John Pofi confirmed to this medium that Rev Zango was just about to get a haircut as they prepare their next line of action.
