
A Jos – based non-governmental organisation, Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Center, on Tuesday the 29th of October, 2019 donated tricycles to 80 disable persons in Wudil, Kano State to aid their mobility.
Donating the tricycles to the beneficiaries, the CEO of the Foundation, Chief Ayuba Burki counselled them against selling the mobility aid given to them.
He stated that, the 80 beneficiaries of the tricycles were carefully selected and that, they were people who really needed the devices to aid their mobility.
Chief Burki stated that his foundation was established to raised awareness against polio and as well rehabilitated victims of polio and other category of person’s with special needs.
According to him, “ the tricycles donated are produced at his factory in Jos with majority of his staff been people living with disability but who have been equipped with skills and are today self reliant and they have thus far distributed more than 18,000 tricycles free of charge in more than 26 States in Nigeria among many other interventions.
Reacting to the gesture, National President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Ibrahim Kaleel who hosted the event in his orphanage commended the foundation, asking other well meaning Nigerians to emulate the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Center to reduce the burden of people with special needs in the society.
